Motto: Faith in Family First.
Mission Statement: State of California is in dire need of generating revenue in order for families to have social mobility and to achieve the American Dream. Jobs and the consumption of goods and services are the fuel to California’s economic climate which preserves the present and our future.
Major Themes: Economy, Education, Family, and Immigration.
ECONOMY
California must be business-friendly in order to compete at the national and global level. We need to:
1. Decrease taxes to create incentives to large and small businesses.
California has pushed out businesses that generate jobs. For example, aerospace, manufacturing, and the film industry continue to relocate out of California due to its high taxation.
2. Reduce unnecessary regulatory schemes which make it burdensome to launch, operate and expand any industry.
Licenses to operate a business should not be expensive or complicated to obtain. Currently, the process is lengthy and unreasonable.
3. Advance the practice of a small government.
The bigger the government, the more tax money is required to operate it. In other words, the state is recklessly spending our hard earned money.
EDUCATION
Government representatives and parents need to establish a purpose for a successful educational system. That purpose should be to lead students to college or any other institution of higher learning.
1. Give parents option of choosing between public, charter, and private schools.
Research indicates that private schools perform at better or equivalent levels. Data has shown that public schools cost twice as much to operate than private schools. Expanding public funds to include charter and private schools would reduce cost, lower classroom sizes, and increase teacher wages.
2. Mandate the Department of Education to allot at least 50% of general funds to go directly to classroom teachers.
Let’s pay our teachers more. There is a demand to attract and retain the best and brightest in the public sector. Yet, there exist fierce competition from the private sector that offers higher wages and better benefits.
3. Identify and eliminate wasteful spending in the Department of Education.
Currently, money is clogged in the halls of a huge bureaucracy. Educational funds seldom reach teachers, much less our students.
FAMILY VALUES
Our campaign understands that families shape the pillar of society. We believe in upholding the following:
1. Traditional family values
Family values place the interest of the family first, not the interests of government bureaucrats. Every action that the government takes should be aimed at helping to improve the quality of life for our families.
2. Religious rights
The right to worship should not involve fear from fines, persecution or any other form of intimidation. Religion establishes positive morals that society can aspire to attain.
3. Traditional marriage
Reliable and consistent data reveal that the best interest of a child is achieved in a traditional two-parent household. We cannot afford to experiment with the lives of our children with any forms of nontraditional marriage.
IMMIGRATION RIGHTS
The United States was founded by people who immigrated to this country. Biblical views have encouraged migration to expand and develop our great nation. Moses commanded: Do not mistreat the aliens or oppress them, for you were aliens in Egypt. To this end, we support:
1. Driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants.
Forged documents are easily obtained in street corners throughout the state. California is losing funds by not rendering driver’s licenses to the state’s undocumented tax-payers.
2. Path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who are already in our country.
The government is already taxing people who use fraudulent identities. Furthermore, an estimated seven million or so illegal immigrant workers in the United States provide the Social Security system with a subsidy of over $7 billion a year. However, undocumented immigrants do not receive public pensions, Medicare, or Social Security.
3. Promote dialogue with neighboring countries to encourage legal migration.
The border protecting the U.S. has become extremely dangerous to cross in an illegal fashion. Nonetheless, people are still coming into the country. Those desiring to come to our country should do so in a legal manner.
