Campaign Summary of Edward Paul Reyes For Senate

Campaign Summary

Political Approach - A Different Path Edward Paul Reyes is running for California State Senate District 22 because he believes that government should serve the will of the people. A community of people should be able to prosper and live the American Dream. Join us in this historic journey!

Not Your Traditional Political Candidate
Typically, a person runs for office after graduating from college (usually 4 years). Then, that person might work for a government agency and administer, through bureaucratic channels, to the work force. Far too many times, a real life experience and understanding of issues is missed in this traditional form of becoming a politician. Leadership and understanding of the issues may not even be required in this traditional method.

Even though this may be the conventional way of becoming a politician, it is not the only way. There is a different path if one has exceptional leadership skills.

Quick Facts About Edward Paul Reyes:

* Raised in and graduated from public schools in same District in which he now runs for Senate
* Veteran of the United States Marine Corps
* Graduate of UC Berkeley
* Earned a Master’s Degree from UCLA
* Mr. Reyes was a Teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)
* Obtained a Juris Doctorate Degree from Liberty University School of Law

A Servant of the Community

         Edward Paul Reyes has devoted his life to serving the community. However, he is not happy with the expensive and directionless route government has taken. He wants to hold elected officials accountable by stepping up and leading by example!

         Proposals include:

         Actually investing in education by securing quality educators. Out of control spending is the state’s current method of attempting to fix education. When cuts are proposed, teachers salaries and budgets are the first expense to be cut. However, it is not just the teachers and children who lose out, it is society as a whole. We need to invest in hiring and retaining quality teachers.

         Results of investing in education:

1. Less Crime. This means less tax dollars spent to support the prison system
2. Larger tax base of productive, educated citizens contributing to our economy instead of draining it via social services
3. Lower unemployment rates and a more, entrepreneurial, competitive society
4. When the government invests in our children's educations by investing in good educators you will find that it spends less and we can lower taxes.
        Eliminating the governmental mismanagement of funds can benefit all tax payers. We must cut the wasteful expenditures of millions in tax revenues so that "We, The People" can use those funds to invest towards building a more prosperous economy.
